Top 10 Posts of 2018

It has been a big year.

A year that saw me pick up a job as a writer, with the hours spent here over the past six years adding up to something even greater than I realised at the time. I honed my understanding of what makes me come alive, with a foray into children’s fiction and a renewed focus on hospitality through our Enchanted Table nights. We are gradually leaving the baby years behind, with our youngest now almost two and the rest zooming quickly into the independent stage where we are less needed in some ways (and more in many others).

I love looking back, making sense of what has been. Considering what worked and what didn’t, what felt right and what needed tweaking. It always interests me to find out what you clicked on the most – the posts I sent out into the ether that hit a chord and connected with you somehow.

This year it was an eclectic mix – from musings about marriage to reflections on writing and parenting, my favourite book lists and confessions of brokenness. Strategies for self-care, attempts to solve mummy wars, and collections of lessons learned in seasons of health and despair.

It makes such a difference knowing you are out there and resonating with what I often describe as my ‘free therapy’! Writing it all out seems to help somehow, and I’m glad to be on this ride together. Friends make it so much more bearable and enjoyable.
